The Boyds

The BoydsSome of you already know who The Boyds are, but for those of you who don't, here's a little insight: The Boyds include Chuck Boyd, Eddi Kenny-Boyd, and Alex Boyd.

Chuck originates from Kansas City, Missouri. At the age of 5 he was drawn towards the drums and all the rest is history. He has been in the music business over 30 years and has played with numerous artists and in various groups in the US and Canada. He moved to Nashville in 1990 and continues to perform, produce and record in Nashville. He is also an artisan, singer, songwriter, drummer, percussionist, chef, gardener, husband and father.

Eddi originates from Fermeuse, Newfoundland, Canada. She began singing, songwriting and playing a guitar at a young age. She moved to St. Johns, attended Memorial University for a period of time and graduated from St. Clares School of Nursing. She moved to Vancouver, BC, Canada and worked as an Oncology and Emergency nurse for several years and moved to Nashville in the late 1980's. She took a break from medicine and started a music career and performed with many artists over the next few years, and travelled extensively in Canada, US and Europe. She began her studies back into alternative medicine in the early 1990's and earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic medicine and her Doctorate in Philosophy of natural medicine. She currently has a holistic consulting firm that educates people in health and stress management. For more information go to her website at www.healthandstressmanagement.com

Music has always been a huge part of her life as a child and on into her adult life and with the release of the Boyds album, "Crossroads", she feels music balances her life. In fact she has recently taken up the mandolin. Chuck and Eddi's daughter, Alex, has inspired their journey back into the music genre and their harmonies and love for one another flows through every song. They want music to always be a part of their journey, no matter what road or crossroad they come to.

Alex loves to perform. At the age of 3 she appeared in several commercials, had small roles in a couple of movies. She has been taking dance lessons for several years and dreams of being an artist one day. Music is a big part of her life and one day she hopes to release her own solo album. She loves her pug dog, Buddha, who doesn't sing very well, she says. She is doing great in her new school and is an excellent student.
